Rapid Detox Q&A
What is rapid detox?
There are several types of rapid detox. Many treatments claim to be able to fully detox you in just one hour. Although these treatments can be effective, the patient all too often wakes up after the hour-long treatment in the throes of severe withdrawal symptoms.
Dr. Yee doesn’t believe you should have to suffer in this way. He designed the rapid detox process at Rapid Opioid Detox Clinic to significantly slash your discomfort. In many cases, patients can go through this detox process with no physical withdrawal symptoms.
Dr. Yee’s rapid detox is an eight-hour process, during which you’re under anesthesia. By keeping you under anesthesia for eight hours, he ensures you’re asleep through the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. You wake up detoxed.
What addictions can rapid detox be used to treat?
This rapid detox is effective for people who are experiencing addiction to:
- Meperidine (Demerol®)
- Oxycodone (Oxycontin®)
- Hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Vicodin®, Norco®)
- Oxycodone and acetaminophen (Percocet®)
In other words, if you’re living with opioid addiction, there’s a high likelihood Dr. Yee can help you.
Is rapid detox safe?
Dr. Yee is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, so you can rest easy knowing he can safely monitor you during the entire process. What’s more, he and the team at Rapid Opioid Detox Clinic have provided rapid detox for more than 500 patients with no complications. And their specialized eight-hour detox process is even patented.
What happens after rapid detox?
After rapid detox, you shouldn’t have any physical withdrawal symptoms. But it’s important to know that addiction has mental and social components, too. To help you get off on the right foot, Dr. Yee offers three-day, one-on-one care at his recovery center immediately after detox.
He also recommends counseling after detox to help you overcome the mental ramifications of addiction. And to help minimize any cravings, he offers Vivitrol® injections. This once-a-month injection helps keep the opioid receptors in your brain balanced.
Although rapid detox sets you up for a successful life after addiction, the work doesn’t end after your detox. If you want help establishing a counseling plan and deciding if Vivitrol is right for you, don’t hesitate to talk to Dr. Yee and his dedicated team.
